Community
The South Kirkland project is at the heart of Ontario’s gold country, where mining has been active now for over a century. These lands reside on the traditional territory of Indigenous Peoples, who lived and cared for this region long before the arrival of prospectors. As mining developed, the area became known for its resilience and strong community, which reflects a unique blend of shared histories and cultures. Today, its people continue to honour this land by upholding its significance, and working together toward a future that respects the environment as well as the communities who depend on it.
Sustainability
South Kirkland Gold knows that being a good neighbour means earning our place in the community every day. For us, that means:
- Building strong, transparent, and respectful relationships with nearby communities and Indigenous partners. We aim to work together in a manner that reflects the rich and diverse history of this region.
- Being a reliable and responsible neighbour that is trusted to minimize our impacts on the land, water, and local residents as much as possible.
- Standing by our commitment to health and safety: for our workers, their families, and the communities that have stewarded this land for generations.
We believe that actions speak louder than words, and we are committed to showing that we are a responsible Northern company: one that works alongside communities, protects their land, and puts health and safety at the forefront of everything we do.
